I use voice dictation a lot. When I use it for work I need to censor myself.

When I come to Lemmy I’m not going to go through the trouble of finding the voice dictation setting 12 layers deep so that it won’t censor the word fuck.

Inadvertently some assholes comes along after every one spicy comments to let me know I can say fuck on the internet.

I had a co-worker that managed to score himself a pretty decent aerospace job. He was a damn good coder, college graduate, No debt no drug use whatsoever, nicest guy in the world. This one time a baby mouse got stuck in a recycling can by his desk. He gave it water put a little piece of Rice krispie treat and with it so it had something to eat. The mouse took a bite of the rice krispie treat and kealed over dead. He sobbed about that for the whole day and was mopey for the rest of the week.

Anyway he passed all the practical exams with flying colors. They’ve gone through months of investigation and he was fine. Finally came time for the polygraph. He went for the poly, found some time later that it was not good. Listen I’m back for another poly. Some number of days or weeks later it came back is not good.

I’m like dude, what’s happening when you’re going in there are they asking you complicated morality questions or something? Basically it came down to about halfway through the test he would just start freaking out that he wasn’t going to pass it get nervous, upset, The second time he actually cried a little bit.

He never did get that job. But I can assure you that if he had he would have gone to his grave with any secrets that ever would have come out of there.

I do have some concerns about polarizing the light. If I can get a hold of some cheap filter material I might be inclined to do some tests. Maybe I can rescue the polarizer out of an old LCD TV.

Polarizing’s not completely magic, It does seriously reduce the amount of light coming in. There’s just usually enough light around that it doesn’t affect us, our pupils dilate a fraction of a fraction and it’s no big deal.

But at night when there’s already relatively little light out, It does reduce the overall light amount.

I’m also concerned that any light that bounces off something but maintains the polarization will be blocked, so there will be a higher chance of you not being able to see some percentage of your own headlight illumination, I would think that the average diffraction off everything in front of you would thoroughly destroy the coalescence of polarization but I don’t really know for sure, it’s possible that would make your own headlights less effective to you.

I suspect if we were thinking about this in the '50s if it were viable somebody would have pulled it off by now. But we only have had windshield sized polarizers in TVs for maybe a decades so maybe?

But check the date this is a very old idea. Would probably make a very interesting YouTube video or two

The FA state was stressful for me, the FO is pretty well outlined. New Consitution? New Laws? Obv thing’s don’t just ratchet back 4 or 20 years and all debt is left stable.
