    I’m going to get mass downvoted for this, but better framing would be about workers being laid off, not the importance of their elite work, however important, as most people know climate change is happening and have made peace via Jesus coming back and this being the end times or just crying about the ineptitude of all politicians left of the center right for the last 40 years globally

      That has its place too I guess, but personally I’d point in the opposite direction and say there’s also room for more general-interest news sources aimed at the kind of people who already know at least enough about Mauna Loa to be aware that it’s famous for producing the most widely used measurements of atmospheric CO2.
