EDIT: Thanks everyone for the help! I’ll probably be adding some more inexpensive ebikes that aren’t over $1000 because 90% of people won’t spend that mich in an ebike.

I’ll also need to make the note at the top a bit more clear that bikes are 100% down to preference, and to an extent, e-bikes as well. I’ll also try to mention WHY each of my picks are the “best” since a lot of them seem to come out of thin air. (some of it is wirecutter picks, some are just ones popular on various different forums. I’ll try to make it more clear).

Maybe I could add a link to the source of each of my picks (e.g. to wirecutter, certain forums), maybe even a list of different ones sort of like a linktree but worse looking made using html. (if it’s a combination of a lot of reviews and discussion threads)

original message:

For over a year, I’ve been working on a project called “bestof”, which is a product recommendation site detailing the “best” things in each and every category. I’ve recently included prices as well thanks to a suggestion from a comment. I’m also planning a high-contrast mode, because right now it’s all just green.

I would like some feedback, specifically on the bike section. Are my picks terrible (most probably are), and if so, what else do you suggest? Do you have any feedback on the site as a whole?

Thanks for your help!

After some more research, I’ve found that Lectric ebikes are very good value for money and seem to have good customer support so I’ve added those instead. Still quite expensive though…

For the e-bike recommendations, I literally just found an e-bike that seemed pretty good reviewed online. I should really include some cheaper ones.

I personally would never actually buy those $1000+ ebikes since I’m don’t bike very often, but maybe someone who commutes by bike everyday would idk.

What ebikes would you recommend I add to the list that is a somewhat reasonable price?

I’ve only added ebikes since at least they have things like specs (power, battery life, “smart” features, etc) but regular bikes are 100% preference.

I don’t ride ebikes myself. fatbikes are currently popular for being cheap and easy to (illegally) mod for speed.

May I suggest an “omafiets”, just make sure to put the saddle high enough. It should be at your hip, you get on by standing on the paddles. They’re really comfy, and you get to sit straight.

omafiets seem pretty cool. I have updated the site to mention that. It seems that any ebikes under $1000 is not worth considering/is poor quality/might be dangerous.

That would depend on skill and preference. But I do imagine people on e bikes want to be lazy and get the fancy thing.

But I’ve also seen plenty people on cheap chinese fatbikes. Mostly because they’re easy to mod into illegal motorcycles, but also because they do the job (sort of) starting at about 500 euros
