Walz is just one of several Democrats who have referred to Musk’s immigrant background

Depends on group dynamics but the one I have heard all my life is… “oh that’s interesting” the most passive aggressive response ever but still holds true!

Uh, well. Depends on the people you’re with. I am a Southern interpreter (or Minnesotan/Canadian interpreter if im south of Missouri)

“Bless your heart” to most Minnesotans is confusing. It’s light hearted enough to not be a strong emotional expression of sympathy, but it’s far too strong in terms of the condescending effect it has.

A more appropriate way to express the same sentiment with the same effect would be: “Well, as far as things go, you have it pretty fair.”

But a Minnesotan would say to a Minnesotan: “That’s a bit different.”

A slightly too long “Hmmmmm, so it is then” is also acceptable.

Still my favorite MN colloquialism is Slaps hands down on thighs and stands up “Whelp Ok then.” And then without pretense or hubub, leaving the place immediately.

Almost as good as the Irish goodbye which is a massive favorite if mine.

that just the preface to the prequel to the forward of the first chapter of the first book of ‘good bye’.
