Senate Bill 36, the Restoration of Religious Freedom Act, purports to protect religious freedom for Georgians. The bill states that the state government “shall not substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability” except in rare instances.
Sooo what, can I murder someone and claim it’s part of my religion?

thats pretty much the meat of it right there and even weasel words like…

are ominous. pretty much discriminate however the hell you want.
I read this headline as “advocates [of the bill] say will harm marginalized groups,” and thought, “that’s unusually honest!” Everybody knows that’s what it’s for.
