Wouldn’t dismantling the USPS dissolve a monopoly and create competing services? Having worked at USPS, it runs like a heavily outdated private company. NALC could even continue to unionize each new company and insure that employees are treated fairly. They might lose some power but USPS will lose much more.
Are NALC branches divided on this idea?
Nothing stops private companies to compete right now. UPS and fedex already compete in package services. Simple fact is, usps is already operateing lean in the mail services and the USPS isnt beholden to shareholders. Usps already had to enshitify themselves because of the dumbass congress forcing them to prefund pensions for future employeers that arent even born yet.
So, here’s the thing… I live in a city where the USPS refuses to deliver mail. Did anyone else know that was a thing?
So… I kind of feel like USPS can go fuck themselves.
Every time a carrier hands off to USPS, I don’t get the package. It happens a few times a month. Every other carrier delivers to us.
What city is that and why does USPS refuse to deliver mail?
