This is one of those things where I assumed it anyway was banned. Although I feel like there are still crocodile-skin handbags, so I don’t know why I assumed that. 🤔
I mean people eat crocodile, and they have to be regularly culled anyway because their populations in some areas are a bit out of hand and they present a danger to humans and to ecological balance in the area.
If they’re being killed anyway, why not utilise the skin?
Of course, animals being farmed in poor conditions is a different matter entirely. That should absolutely be banned (and for fur trade, it is).

In the case of crocodile/alligator leather, atleast the Meat doesnt go to waste.
