        Fair question. I remember hearing people on lemmy in the last year saying Brave was a good browser. I doubt it was this instance though.

          Ah, that makes sense then and puts it into context. Brave has/had a die-hard community with superfans who can be very loud, but overall, the majority of FOSS-people I know had always at least been somewhat wary of, if not outright hostile to, the Crypto stuff - and as this video/article shows, there were a lot of scandals making them questionable.
