That’s pretty neat. I wonder if it would be better or worse in cold climates. Pockets of water that freeze and expand really beat up asphalt. Would this let that water get away, or would it just make things worse?
I honestly don’t know. It looks really cool; I guess if it’s that porous, it’d be more resistant, but I don’t know.
The installation looks very involved, which is probably why we don’t see more of it. But I’ve only seen resurfacing, not completely new road installation - maybe it’s not that much worse?
