But in fairness to OP, it’s often easier to see the path without the tangled underbrush of emotional involvement. And if we can understand why it’s so hard for them to do what we know they need to do, we can provide the emotional support necessary, lend an axe, as it were.

Well, your mum rang about you going around tomorrow night, and then Liz rang about the two of you eating out tonight, and then your mum rang back to see if I wanted to eat her out tonight…
I can show the path that needs walked to reach a certain end. Doesn’t mean I’m going the same way.
