If Ukraine gets a UN-led government, then so should Russia. That I could agree with.
UN-led means the UN Security Council, in which Russia has a permanent seat and therefore veto powers, would get a say on what the Ukrainian government can and can’t do.
And the reverse would be true if the UN led the government in Russia. What’s your point?
My point is the motivation behind the Russian demand, control over Ukraine, also the impossibility of forcing a UN led government on Russia, because the Russian government can easily veto that.
Again, there are other members who could veto a UN government in Ukraine 🤷🤷 It’s not going to happen either.
Let’s hope so.
China and the US are likely going to support Russia. This leaves only two veto powers, France and the UK, in need of being persuaded.
Non permanent members don’t have veto powers.
Putin wants to overthrow the government in Ukraine…
This is not a serious proposal. This is Putin trying to prolong his war of conquest and get others to do his dirty work.
Nobody with a brain trusts Putin. Anyone who says they do is an idiot or argues in bad faith.
US government be like: Why not both?
Ukraine already has a government.
