Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York City’s mayoral primary last month has resulted in absolute meltdowns from billionaires, genocide supporters, and other assorted defenders of the status quo. Let’s pause for a moment to enjoy them.

He has a doctorate. In psychology, so he’s not a real doctor. But legally, he has the right to throw Dr. in front of his name.

If he has a doctorate, he’s a doctor. That is how these things work. Like Dr. Jill Biden, the medical sciences aren’t the only sciences. He should not be giving medical advice any more than any other non-medically schooled person.

Depends how you look at it. Of course it’s medical, but, at least where I live, you study psychology at university in the psychology department which is entirely independent friom the medical department. A degree in psychology is not considered a medical degree in the sense that you didn’t graduate in the medical sciences. While the psychology and medical students do get to study a lot of the same subjects the angle from which they are addressed is different. However psychiatrists do study medecine first and take psychiatry as a specialization. I don’t know how such things happen where you live.

The best thing that could happen is for a lot of other young, driven people to look at Zohran’s success and run on the same goals.

Little by little, take back the system, from the ground up.
