I mean, do you know how to tell which server in an 8’ tall rack full of them is the one that isn’t working? Do you know where the power button is on that server? Do you know if there are any special procedures required to cycle power on it? Sure, it’s often the big obvious one, but not always, and that doesn’t always help you anyway.
Or, why are we hiring people who don’t know how to press a button properly?
It’s not about knowing how to press a button, it’s about knowing which button and when.
