Relatively slow week, but I noticed that Yumizuka Iroha wa Tejun ga Daiji! started updating again last year, and read through the whole thing again.

Only four chapters left for it to complete, too!

Even Monsters Like Fairytales - I have just binged through volume 1-5 and fith volume really ties up the plot nicely even if series is marked as ongoing. This is one of the best manga I have read(so far). Emotions are beautifully drawn. Characters are not flat and portrayed with deapth (at least ones that matter). Magnificent writing. Solid 9/10 maybe even 10/10.

The story at the beggining doesn’t really show what it is. I really like that author doesn’t treat reader as someone stupid.

I’ve spent the last few weeks slowly reading through Medalist. It’s surprisingly dense; when they adapted it into an anime they only covered one chapter per episode and that felt about right. They’re long chapters but even so I don’t think that’s normal. Anyways, this is one you read for the character writing. The way Inori and her coach Tsukasa play off each other is incredibly charming, and the artist does a great job on facial expressions. It’s also amazing how a sports manga can feel like it has more dramatic stakes than something action-based. Maybe it’s the very real chance of failure. Maybe it’s just because it feels more grounded and realistic. Either way, nothing sucks me into the next chapter like one of the characters getting ready to do a difficult jump in a tournament and everyone is watching to see what they’ll do and speculating whether they can actually do it and then the “next chapter” button appears and I just can’t resist pushing it.

I’m still a bit too busy to do much reading at the moment but I can happily report that The Saga of Tanya the Evil is finally being updated again. I just hope these updates are going to stick around for a while this time rather than disappear into the ether for another few months…

I have just started my attempt at catching up on a lot of series that I have fallen behind on. I don’t have too much to write about this week, but I do just want to acknowledge all of you that have continued to make posts while I wasn’t really able to keep reading regularly. I have also seen some new names making posts recently and some new series popping up which is always exciting.

I still remember the early days after starting this community and I was trying to post at least 1-2 times each day just to keep some amount of activity. On days where series I was reading didn’t get an update, I would start browsing random older oneshots just to find something worth posting. So, it’s nice to see that we have enough users here now that things are more self-sustaining.
