BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Why is there a difference between a permaban and a suspension1·5 days agocomment removal from a sub, can trigger a filter and flag your account to be banned down the line or immediately
I’ve noticed that as well. Sometimes I’ll have a solid 3-day streak of making a new account and using it without any issues, and then the instant I get a post removed from a sub for breaking some obscure rule, the AI will seek me out like sharks in water and suspend me instantly
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Why is there a difference between a permaban and a suspension2·6 days agoNo suspensions are also permanent as well. They just wipe everything on top of it, unlike a permaban

BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldto Reddit@lemmy.world•I came here to write pretty much what everyone else is saying. Reddit is imploding.2·8 days agoThey are going back to Reddit. They either A- make a ton of new accounts that all get instabanned (increasing the number of people “signing up” or B- just don’t post anymore and simply consume
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldto Reddit@lemmy.world•MRW I realized that not only does Reddit keep posts and comments active even after a sitewide ban, several of mine are still the top on quite a few subs5·8 days agoIt’s perfect, Reddit gets to ban you and doom you to infinitely scrolling the site, while simultaneously milking engagement from your old posts!
They haven’t responded because their support team doesn’t exist. Real humans don’t look at theappeals, bots do, so every single time you send one in, you may as well be sending a letter into the abyss of space
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming a literal wasteland of dead accounts1·13 days agoSo here’s the thing, it very much still could be ban evasion. Reddit’s ban systems are able to detect things as minute as writing style and political views, so if you basically wrote in the same way you did before and held the same beliefs, they very likely were able to trace it back to you. It’s utterly insane
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldto Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit is purging, with great prejudice12·13 days agoYes, you summed it up perfectly!
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•I think Reddit is trying to shift their platform into a media sharing social (like Instagram) rather than a discussion forum1·13 days agoIf they want to populate the site with ads then honestly they should just make you watch an ad before posting or commenting something. Sure it would be a PR nightmare, but it would be far better then the shady user purging they are doing now, and at the end of the day, at least everyone would be able to post
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•I think Reddit is trying to shift their platform into a media sharing social (like Instagram) rather than a discussion forum2·13 days agoYeah that’s the issue, Reddit is the only platform to actually have that infrastructure built up. Quora is not nearly as good, and Discord is Discord, so once Reddit purges you off the site there is basically nowhere to go because places like Digg and Lemmy just simply do not have enough people.
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•I think Reddit is trying to shift their platform into a media sharing social (like Instagram) rather than a discussion forum1·13 days agoYou may be right, but at least you can post in general. Maybe you have a post here and there taken down, but unlike Reddit, it’s actually possible to post, and you won’t be Thanos snapped from the website so they can artificially reduce human engagement
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldto Reddit@lemmy.world•A possible tactic for overcoming a permaban1·14 days agoThey don’t want a user base. If people are posting and commenting then it means they aren’t scrolling and watching ads
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming a literal wasteland of dead accounts3·15 days agoYeah it’s crazy how there is absolutely zero nuance in how they dish out bans. There are no warnings, no second chances, if you break any rule, no matter how big or small, they all carry the same exact punishment and that is an immediate and permanent ban for the rest of your life
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming a literal wasteland of dead accounts7·15 days agoSo I get what you’re saying, but unfortunately Reddit hasn’t reached Myspace levels of dead yet. It’s still the 9th most visited website in the whole world, and I unfortunately don’t think that’s gonna change anytime soon
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldto Reddit@lemmy.world•A possible tactic for overcoming a permaban1·16 days agoJesus Christ I was not aware of how much data they could gather on me just through internet connection. Even my fucking battery level?
This website is super impressive though, is there a function on here to be able to tell if I’ve been blacklisted or IP banned on websites like Reddit? How can I actually utilize this to dodge a ban effectively?
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Is there any way to get in contact with a Reddit admit regarding a ban?2·16 days agoThis is something I’ve noticed too. Reddit seems to have quickly moved from an incel haven and into a femcel anarchist’s wet dream.
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Is there any way to get in contact with a Reddit admit regarding a ban?1·18 days agoThat’s what I find so bewildering. Like I am on a college campus, and I sign into a new device while using a user agent switcher and get banned instantly. There is absolutely no way they should be able to connect that account to me, so my only assumption is just that if someone signed onto Reddit while being on campus, they are gone and there’s nothing they can do about it. Such a ridiculously wide net to cast while trying to catch and punish the most minor of offenses
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Is there any way to get in contact with a Reddit admit regarding a ban?93·19 days agoThat’s such a good point. It quite honestly really feels like the entirety of Reddit is run by a single AI that does not give a fuck about any of its users. It honestly feels like the most corrupt and anti-consumer social media one can use right now
BingoBongo1942@lemmy.worldOPto Reddit@lemmy.world•Is there any way to get in contact with a Reddit admit regarding a ban?61·19 days agoI’ve been able to submit emails to them through a report form but they have never responded to them
I don’t think Reddit is either super left or right, it’s just radical. Every opinion stated on the platform is always taken to the absolute extreme, but I would say only a select few popular subs like r/unpopularopinion tend to lean left, but then again I would even argue that they are more libertarian or anarchist if anything
