“Good people forced to live in bad times” is the human condition
Reggaeton is anti imperialist because of ass
Maybe Trump is trying to provoke some major social clashes this summer. Tons of racial tension from his immigration and anti -“DEI” (code for anti-black) policies, and possibly incoming devastating economic tension from the tariffs disruption the consumer market. He wants there to be riots, the biggest riots you’ve ever seen, and he wants to see how much more power he can snag to suppress them and how many rioters he can kill
In American history, it is argued that the presence of radical black organizations such as the Black Panthers (and their spiritual predecessors Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey) made moderate reform (as exemplified by MLK’s movement) more palatable to the American public. A similar dynamic can be found in the suffragette movement (National Woman’s Party’s radical messaging versus the NAWSA’s moderate and formal method). The thought process is that the static conservative American, when faced with radical change or moderate change, will begrudgingly accept the moderate change specifically to avoid the radical change.

Follow up thought, China was extremely underdeveloped (due to being colonized and war) by the time the communists wrestled their way to power. Because they were able to gradually increase the quality of life and stability of society, they were able to maintain popular support. European communist nations were either already developed (GDR) or not developed very fully (Romania?), so the citizens didn’t give the government credit for improving their material conditions
Since I haven’t seen it mentioned it, what role did reeducation and cultural revolutions play in China to help it resist Western influence? Many other communist revolutions had a disaffected petite bourgeoisie class that resented the new system and worked to undermine it through subterfuge. Did the effects of the Chinese civil war and later reforms have enough staying power to change people’s general ideas of property and government?
