Yeah, one thing the Trump admin has taught me is that our constitution actually doesn’t mean shit. Not to us as American citizens and not to the government that swore to uphold it. We’ve all just been pretending to care about it until someone with a god complex decided to challenge us.

I was being hyperbolic and trying to think of the worst Democrat possible to put up, so I really highly doubt they would actually run her, but really, you just never fucking know these days, nothing would shock me. They could run Don Jr. at this point and I’d be like “yeah, sounds about fucking right” while bashing my head into my desk.

Do they ever learn from any fuck up? No. Our next nominee is probably going to be Nancy Pelosi because we all know how much everyone loves her, and she’s the perfect age to run.

I feel like we have very different beliefs on what “grand scheme of things” means because I don’t believe $5b will make an immediate difference right away for most people, but you can implement small things that will create ripple effects that greatly change the grand scheme of things for the future.

I truly don’t believe $5b is anywhere close to being enough to do that.

The money isn’t for you, and you don’t get any of the benefits of having it. The only reason I allowed for a stipen for a modest living in a cheap area is because I knew that half the comments would be “First I buy land build houses for me and all my friends and family, buy everyone cars, and fund all their colleges, then with the hundred million left over, I’ll help some homeless people” OR if I would have said you get no money at all, everyone would have said they wouldn’t have time to do anything good because they still had to work full time and half to afford their bills. So, the compromise is you get a modest lifestyle in an undesirable area fully funded, or no money at all and you can continue to work full time and a half to afford your basic ass lifestyle while not helping anyone.

I wanted to do something similar to your apartment idea but for teens and young adults in poverty-stricken areas. Get them into a stable environment, teach them the necessary life skills like credit management, budgeting, cooking for yourself, etc. and give them job training. All of that would also go just as well for the homeless population. I grew up in an area that was riddled by the crack epidemic and had no resources for kids/teenagers to do anything other than crimes. The city didn’t pay for anything to keep us out of trouble, and our drug addict parents sure weren’t going to do it either. So I always felt like if I had a ton of money I would focus on program to help teens in those situations learn to be proper adults, because nobody else is teaching them. Schools won’t, parents won’t, we’re defunding every program that helps outside of the home. It’s a mess.

Thankfully chicken is still low for me (used to be .69 cents a lb on sale, now .99) but holy hell, ground beef is like unobtainable anymore. They want nearly $6 a lb for the 70% ground beef and I just can’t ever justify it. We’ve mainly just been living on chicken, and pork when there are good sales, but yeah lots of meatless meals.

Electricity has been noticeably going up for me as well and its quite honestly insane. I live in a single-wide trailer with 1 other adult, we’re not running heat or AC right now because its spring, we have been actively trying to conserve energy because of how high the bills are so we’re making sure to turn stuff off, I unplugged my deep freezer and consolidated to just the fridge, I only do full loads of laundry, with cold water, etc. My electric bill is still over $300!

I feel like we’re living like cavemen and we’re still somehow using $3000+ of electric, I don’t get it.

Fun memory I just had: My dad was a penny picker and would empty his pockets at the end of the day into one of those blue 5-gallon water jugs that he kept right at the front door by the stairs. One time when it was full, I was trying to be slick and take a lil, and knocked the jug down the stairs where it broke and pennies cascaded down them like a waterfall of copper. Dad was pissed at first but then found it funny. Whats even more funny, is that we didn’t clean it up for months, we just had penny stairs, and I swear he would come home and just throw his new pennies right on the stairs. He probably would have kept it that way forever but I cleaned it up as a surprise while he was gone one day.

He is a walking mental health issue. I wish he would go away. I think I regret voting for him more than any other person I’ve ever voted for in my life.

Every time lately, I gotta check and make sure it’s satire.

So he’s pretending to do his job for a few days until the next scandal(s) comes out and we all get distracted from the plane.
