Hard agree to all of this. My tastes don’t align with his in a lot of ways, but because he’s so consistent on what he does and does not like, he’s an excellent barometer for whether or not I will enjoy a game even if I have the opposite experience to his.
I still listen to gerstmann but I have to run the podcast at 1.6x speed with silence trimmed out due to him running solo. He really needs a co-host to bounce off of.

Such a weird take. A new hope starts out with an entire planet getting destroyed and Luke’s aunt and uncle being turned to BBQ. I know it’s not given the actual emotional weight that it would have in reality, but it’s not like everything was roses.
