Kind of… Standard English is the reference dialect of english (used to teach foreigners) and it’s what received pronunciation (queen’s English/posh sounding) accent uses.

Kind of. In England we have many, many local accents/dialects. Most people speak their ‘mother tongue’ as a local dialect. Some of these dialects are so different to what you would think of as English (this is a dialect called Standard English) that you wouldn’t understand most of it. Even English people don’t understand other English dialects perfectly, only their own and maybe some others depending on how familiar they are with them, like neighbouring dialects which are closer to their own. Then consider that England is joined onto Scotland and Wales, which not only have their own dialects of English, but actually their own completely different languages.

So its the same effect as if you’re speaking a second language exclusively for a long time and then you can speak in your mother tongue again.

Test potential politicians for mental illnesses and make sure they have empathy etc. Make them do mandatory counselling. I mean, counsellors and mental health workers have to do this because they’re working with vulnerable people, but politicians don’t??? Their decisions affect everyone, including vulnerable people.

He’s certainly trying to get the minerals without any legally binding agreement to put American troops in Ukraine. Whether he really wants them (or its just an excuse) and massive question over whether he can be trusted to abide by even legally binding agreements. What would the consequences of the US reneging be? I wouldn’t take anything for granted with trump and the magas.

• a nearly new phone from back market - that’s good for lots of tech.
• CPC Farnell for an electric blanket, they sell new DIY stuff, electronics and so on. You don’t need a business to buy from there.
• Another good place for second hand is Vinted, its not just for clothes, I bought 2 watches from there, books, jewellery and other random stuff, you can find a lot of random stuff for cheap so I look there first if I need something (look for the bulk discounts, if sellers offer that, or you can offer less).
• Odylique for skincare, toiletries, makeup etc
• I’ve bought new clothes etc from snagtights, nobody’s child and seasalt.
• If you’re in the UK there’s a resource to help called ethicalconsumer.org. I’ve changed practically everything I spend money on using that site and probably saved money too.
• Now I’m looking for the best source of laundry and cleaning stuff, not sure if it’s worth bulk buying and refilling containers and so on. I’m also thinking about a weekly organic veg box.
