Isn’t it funny how you can just hand wave an entire theory because someone said it’s racist and then millions repeat that notion. It’s like the new version of “he’s a crazy conspiracy theorist”, it’s a useful tool to discredit someone without having to prove them wrong. The Graham Handcock theory is obviously what is being referred to here and the fact that he’s called racist blows my mind. How does the age of the pyramids affect who actually built them, it’s either 4000 year old Africans or 12000 year old Africans, they were built in Africa by Africans.

There is obviously a lot of questions on how but I think the more interesting angle is why? Yeah humans at any stage in life could probably figure out how to stack these massive stones to create a few hundred meter tall structure. But the effort involved to do so must have needed some extraordinary reason, especially when you learn that the quarry they mined the stones from was 100s of kilometers away.

My work provides these for designers and I love it. I’ve been using it everyday for 5 years, I will admit it has become a crutch and I feel useless if I’m working from home and I forgot it at the office. Don’t sleep on the hot keys either, sometimes they are program specific and sometimes they are operation specific with the program itself. I.E. I use inventor for 3D design and the assembly, part, and sketch tabs all have different hot key menus.

A new hunting rifle, my coworker invited me up north for a hunting trip. In my state you can only use certain gun calibers in the area I hunt at, but up north you can use longer range bullets. I’ve been wanting to get into long range shooting for a while but could never commit. I debated for a while and finally bit the bullet and got a ruger with a nice scope, got to take it to a 300 yard range and oh boy that was a lot of fun ringing 8 inch steel gongs from that distance. Didn’t get a deer though but I’m happy with my purchase.

Michigander here, my buddy has a cabin in this town and I’d go up north a few times a year for a long weekend on the river. He also has some family that have lived in Big Rapids forever. His uncle, red as they come, was telling me he thought it was a great idea to bring in more jobs to a smaller college town and that was the general sentiment of the town.

He also told me that the “No Go On Gotion” movement was started by some wealthy realtor that was salty that Gotion bought up the property surrounding their luxury estate and horse farm to build low cost housing for the future workers. Driving into town there’s an entire road lined with anti-gotion signs on one side, and it just so happens that is the edge of the realtors property.

Our hiring manager just flat out sucks at his job, rarely ever see him interviewing people and I know of several coworkers who have dropped their friends resumes on his desk and he never follows up with these recommendations. One of his main jobs is to keep in contact with our student co-ops and let them know their start dates after each semester, he doesn’t reach out to them and actually dodges their calls. Now here is the real shocker, he is untouchable because he is the former owners son.

So, I noticed the past few months he’s been interviewing a lot more than the past few years, pretty obvious because he gives a building tour after each interview. I was talking to my secretary about it and she told me he got a real ass chewing because current ownership found out, after the fact, that his request to work from home ALL OF DECEMBER was actually a request to work from my vacation house in Florida, dudes barely older than I am and he just lives life on easy mode.
