Indeed. My brother and I have already had the idea that either I will build a single bed apartment for my mom with us, or he’ll move his family into our family house and have her take to downstairs bedroom when the stairs become too much. No way in hell we’re putting her in a home or letting her stay solo once she gets into her 80s.
I’ll work 60-70 hour weeks in the summer, but it’s my own company and it’s our busy season. This allows me to work 20 hrs/week in the winter and not stress. My guys can work OT all they want, but it isn’t mandatory.
They know exactly what they’re doing, it’s a “purification,” not entirely dissimilar to the same that happened in the 1930s in Germany.
Same with Mouser, Zoro, and Grainger
Indeed. Most of the ultra wealthy I’ve met you’d have no clue they had money unless you went to their houses (I used to do top end residential AV for 1%ers and up, absolutely mental these folks). They dress down in public and drive hondas. They do everything they can to stay out of the public eye as a matter of security.
It really depends, and in my world of electrical parts they want ridiculous shipping prices for a quick turnaround often enough, to the point where it’s either cheaper and faster to drive the hour or so to the closest larger city, or just bite the bullet and use Amazon.
“How many hydraulic levers you need?”
“All of them”
“How many hydraulic-driven pieces of equipment does your rig have?”
“Mind your own business”
I’m doing my damndest to boycott Amazon outright out of principle. I still have to order work-related items occasionally (small remote town, options are limited for speed of delivery), but other than that they haven’t really been getting much out ofe the past few weeks.
I dunno, I think Lex Luthor (Bezos) is up there with him
Um, I don’t think Bart was anything close to resembling a DEI hire or even affirmative action. Bart was chosen because he was seen as an almost guaranteed failure as the town would unanimously reject him for being black and decide to leave town, allowing Hedley Lamarr and his goons to scoop up Rock Ridge for pennies on the dollar for their railroad (due to the quicksand they encountered at the very beginning of the movie). They nearly did reject him in the beginning, only to start warming up to him once he showed an effective prowess at dealing with all the curveballs Lamarr threw at him (ie Mongo). They promoted the idea of Bart as a progressive choice on the surface (dare I say, a cabinet post!), but the underlying reason was to play on the citizens of Rock Ridge’s racism and coerce them to leave town.
So I’d say that maybe it was meant to be seen as an inclusive and progressive choice (in modern parlance), but the underlying reason was anything but (in the context of the movie).
That is an ancient GFCI, grab one of these and make sure it trips and resets for your own safety.
Edit: this guy
Unfortunately, Captain Dipshit has already mandated the death penalty for anyone who kills a cop, and he’s been super keen in recent history on applying it to drug dealers.
