Context?
So small talk is a horrible name then.
Could one, instead, just ask “Hey, are you willing to get into a big deep metaphysical conversation right now?” Then ask the question?

deaf_fish@lemm.eetoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•why is there not a revolution yetEnglish293·15 days agoPeople need to miss at least three meals in a row before they start getting serious. We don’t have the material conditions yet to act.
This reminds me of space station 14 green text.
What does this mean format? I think I get it but I’m not sure…
The universe wanted memes, so it made us.
Wow, that is a jump. I’m curious, how did you get here from my comment?
Yes, I agree. But in our current climate we have media and not a whole lot of social interaction. So for all intents and purposes currently media is driving our culture.

Global sports events have never been hosted by governments with terrible human rights records right?

No no no noooooo.
The media creates the culture.
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny11·24 days agoYou can both vote and organize. Why vote? The more fascist the government is the harder it is to organize. For only 15 minutes every 2 years, it’s actually a pretty powerful tool. It may not move things left but it slows down the fascism.
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny21·24 days agoThanks, yes, in this case I think it makes sense to vote third party.
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny31·24 days agoAh, I see, you have done the math. Ok, this is the only condition which I would consider voting 3rd party not morally dubious. Thanks!
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny44·24 days agoAll that hard work and compromise and yet, you can’t bring yourself to get your hands a little dirty by voting for the lesser evil. You are accelerating the rate at witch your friends die by police. For what reason?
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny43·24 days agoThat is because you are effectively throwing your vote away.
Or you don’t care or want to give the more evil of the two dominate parties a small advantage while telling yourself you are good. I guess you do you.
deaf_fish@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Tankies delusional-posting are quite funny62·24 days agoI think firewitch’s point was that third parties almost by definition have zero chance of getting a candidate elected in a first past the post system. This is pretty common knowledge.
Thanks for the tip! Done!
