I don’t know that sounds like a reasonable size for the new GTA.

At least part of the problem for me is that the app I am using to access Lemmy isn’t really very good. I can block based on keywords in the title but not keywords in the post.
If I really wanted to I could probably find an app with better blocking abilities and try then to see if it’s possible to completely block out the US politics, but I’m not massively incentivized to do so. Not being American I don’t really get massively riled up about it, I get more upset about my own country’s politicians, which most Americans probably have never even heard of.
The greater problem is simply the fact that US content in general seems to get over emphasized in lieu of everything else. There’s a whole world of stuff going on out there and all we ever hear about is America. Even when the US has moderately sane leaders that is the case.
I really shouldn’t know who the congressman for Texas is, there’s no reason I should know that, yet I do. California catches fire, world news, massive flooding in Australia, barely mentioned.
So they went ahead and picked the least habitable planet in our entire solar system to harbor a civilization? They should have said Europa, at least then it would have been moderately believable.
The only way you could have been a bigger asshole is if he were still alive today to be kissing Trump’s arse, because he 100% would have been doing so.
Also everyone will stop using iPods because they realized the truth that was always there which is that having a separate device for listening to music, when you already have a portable computer in your pocket is stupid.
People say he was good at marketing but really he was only okay at marketing. He got fined because everyone hated him. Then they completely mismanaged the company and had no choice but to bring him back, which of course just reinforced his ego.
The truth was they could have got any moderately competent CEO and they would have brought Apple back from the brink, just as much as Steve Jobs did. Look at Tim Cook, he’s not doing an obviously worse job than Jobs did, but because he doesn’t have the formers aura, people rightfully call him out every time he does something stupid.
I used to work as a court clerk and judges are like this. You cannot tell them anything because if they get it into their heads that they know better than you then they will completely ignore reality in favor of their own, largely arbitrary, fictional universe.
The best incentive ever not to commit a crime is to find out how utterly dysfunctional the legal system is.
It was such a weird argument to block it as well. The justification given was that they were concerned that they would be held legally responsible if users saw piracy content on their website.
It was such a bizarre argument. It seemed more like they had decided on personal grounds that they wanted to block it, and then tried to come up with some kind of external justification. It was the lack of intellectual honesty that pissed me off more than the fact that they’d done it.
I have blocked any mention of trump and musk, and yet I still know every single stupid thing they do. It’s impossible to avoid it.
They’re already are multiple alternatives to GPS. GPS is the American navigation system, but there’s also GNSS which is mostly used in Europe and Scandinavia. There are other systems for other parts of the world, even the North and South pole now.
Everyone just uses GPS universally though.
It really is idiocracy
There was a trump property about 10 minutes walk from my house and every time I walk past it I cannot quite believe the utter lack of taste. It’s a sort of thing that a Saudi oil baron would consider to be a bit over the top.
I wouldn’t trust a person a dog doesn’t like.
I don’t understand why everyone seems to claim that dogs are psychic. Dogs like people that give them food, they’re not capable of making a determination about someone’s hidden secret.
I don’t really mind the dogs, but I’m definitely not as smitten with them as the population in general seem to be.
I do not understand why dogs have to bark at everyone who ever walks past the house. They’ve lived there for years, they’ve seen probably thousands of people walk past the house, and they always just walk past, not once as anybody ever come into the house and started attacking everyone with a chainsaw, so why do dogs act like that’s a possibility?
Least you didn’t get traumatized by the ghost kid PSA we got about road safety.
They literally had this whole story about a kid who’d been run over crossing the road and he’s now basically a ghost wandering around being sad about it. I think there was a train one as well.
That must have been a very bad day for the person with only one kidney.
The only trouble with that is if it’s last year’s model then I’m just going to have to let them die.
No I’m talking about how it doesn’t conform to safety regulations which for some bizarre reason appear to be optional in the United States.
Cars have to conform to certain requirements in order to be a functional vehicle part of being a functional vehicle is to be a legal vehicle. If it’s so goddamn angular that you would cut a pedestrian in half upon impact then it isn’t functional.
Racing cars aren’t really relevant because racing cars aren’t meant to be around the rest of the public so they can do whatever they want.
My point that nobody seems to be able to actually get is that if you are making a car it should look like a car.
It shouldn’t look like a weird art installation because ultimately it has to work as a functional vehicle first and foremost. And part of that is not being in death trap to everyone in the local environment. There’s some reason these things aren’t sold in Europe.
If a car is unsafe then it has failed in its most fundamental aspect of being a useful vehicle. Because a unsafe car is not a car that you can use.
The only reason these things are allowed on the roads in the US is that the US don’t actually care about their own citizens well-being.
Right up until an EMP wipes out all our data. I still maintain that we should be storing all our data on vinyl, doing it physically is the only guarantee.
