I recommend a half marathon next, the full is just…so much running. I’ve got a half coming up this fall myself. Congrats!

oooof that’s comprehensively bad
“donald trompa” is sort of cute unfortunately
as much as I find fantano specifically annoying I just don’t think longform talky video is a great format for dealing with music seriously in an interesting way. I’d rather just…listen to the music. the finnerty style “muso dissects bad music” approach is a lot more palatable and even informative at times
I do think it is wrong to set people on fire, but surely the court can offer a somewhat reduced sentence due to the FAFO of it all.
Andor is the first decent piece of SW media since 1980.
I really love the way the expansive HBO budget amplifies the comedic stakes. For example, we know that they really will pay for some pretty wild stuff, such as physically exactingly recreating a section of an airport with functional restaurants inside. That adds a funny sort of credibility to little gags like the “get the dog sniffing air from the right city” bit, which they obviously didn’t really do and only needs to be communicated through a couple of quick insert shots of a truck and a guy with a hose, but your brain at least briefly accepts in a “sure, why not” way because of the context
nathan is the best thing to come out of this fake ass country in many years. give him 20 seasons
in general I think this season has alternated between “pretty good” and “pretty cringe” on an a scene to scene basis more wildly than I remember s1 doing, probably as a result of them condensing and excerpting four planned seasons down to one. I feel like it should provide the encouragement and inspiration to other people to keep fleshing out the universe in a way that isn’t just lightsaber battles but also isn’t terminally dull, unfortunately it is much more likely a fluke not to be repeated
old news. I’m sad I can no longer find and egg his house on olive ave
I did roll my eyes at the predictability of cinta’s death in this context, the only real defence I can think of is that 7/10 of these characters will presumably all be dead within the next 6 episodes anyway
oooof Ashton :(
fun fact, here at least firefighters need to pass a fitness test that includes a treadmill run with full gear and a mask. to train for it they run while wearing two N-95s
so it does add some restriction but probably not enough to worry about
I hate how much it annoys me that the video title claims he ran a marathon, seemingly he only does the 10k. valor stealing!!!
Alcohol.
can everyone just chill out on the fuckin Thematic Anaylsis until they’re done airing the episodes
I think this show stands out more than it normally would at the moment because 99.9% of current TV is absolute dogshit. It’s not high art but it’s made with attention to detail, effective use of style and a coherent sensibility that’s not just “here’s more slop.”
I do kind of miss the simplicity of s1 (which I admired for finding a great way to capture the unreality of office life and the feeling of “going to work”) but I’m down for where things are headed. My only concern is that in the post-Lost landscape showrunners seem a little too eager to demonstrate they’re going to cross every t and dot every i, and not leave the viewer hanging on any mysteries…personally I like a little ambiguity and lingering mystery. Hopefully they don’t feel the need to didactically over-explain.
Pretty funny to learn that the show’s creator used to work for a company that made doors.
that doesn’t even make sense? the lips are probably one of his less orange attributes? very weird
