  • Agreeing with other comments it sounds like you’re describing a bunch of the lesser-known aspects of ADHD. Even the narcissism anxiety and the mania feel pretty on brand for what I’ve experienced personally and what my loved ones with ADHD have said and done.

What’s your caffeine intake like? Your sleep schedule? Maybe see if you can get diagnosed and try medication if you want but I think you’ll be surprised by how effective basic things can be for helping you feel grounded. Things like eating enough, taking multivitamin, regularly working out (literally anything that elevates your heart rate), and sleeping as regularly as you can (I can’t but I try).

  • My teeny bit of advice:

Step 1. If you think there’s any possibility someone’s not feeling well just ask (2 hour minimum interval)

Step 2. If they say they’re fine/ok, take them at face value. If they’re not ok see how you can help.

I find most people (read: mature adults) will appreciate the check in and will understand at a minimum that autism makes it hard to read people well. My experience with autism is definitely that I will shrug off social indicators as “not concrete enough” but just asking people how they’re doing even if you’re often wrong is a clear way of showing that you do care even if your emotional barometer sucks.

  • IP that hit you at those ages is so odd. Like I considered myself a star wars fan for a very long time but when I really took the time to consider the quality of the media, I think the only star wars media I actually truly enjoy are some of the older video games; mainly the og battlefronts, jedi academy, republic commando. I never got deep into kotor or the old extended universe books but I bet I would’ve liked those.

It’s sad because I feel a lot of the general world building and lore of the star wars universe could be really cool but it’s often so fucking bland.
