I told you! Mass labor organization on a scale similar what forced the government to enact the New Deal. Work stoppages, organized boycotts, slowdowns and disruptions, we can break the supply chain and make the economy scream. Stop being so fucking cynical, this has literally worked before.

We’re already punished by being forced to have longer commutes! The company isn’t doing the punishment, of course, but the housing market is by pricing people out of the city.

I also don’t think the company can demand workers pay higher rent without also paying higher wages. They’ll be unable to hire workers if they try. Either the pay increases to match the housing market or they settle for paying commuters.

This all happened without any incentives for for anyone to increase commute length. It’s just a consequence of property markets.

Also, civilians are still useful in war time. Ukraine still has an economy, despite the war. They’re needed to run industrial production, logistical support, distribution, transportation, etc.

Many are children, though, and that definitely doesn’t help Ukraine.
