Kinda looks like Drew Berrymore in the thumbnail, so “Bionic Girl Debuts…” oh cool, new movie—-wait, Drew lost her arms and now has prosthetics? Opened the article……Ohhh…
My first thought as well…BuUuTt, Land trains are a thing, in Australia of course.

Basically this just dates how long it had been since we last saw the movie……
Second this for the US. Nothing major as a nation, but various small things in different areas or cities.
I know Hawaii does a Lei Day- “May day is Lei Day in Hawaii”. Not a full on holiday, but there’s usually festivities of various levels around the islands.
tenacious_mucus@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•The US Secretary of Education referred to AI as ‘A1,’ like the steak sauceEnglish1·1 month agoFair enough! I grew up on the gulf coast and have traveled all over the deep south, have family from northern Louisiana, and my parents lived in Baton Rouge for a while- so i wasnt trying to “assume” for you! A1 (for me) is just one of those things that seemed so common i stopped seeing it and never needed to look for it! Like I said, you aint missing much, so im glad you aren’t familiar with it cause there are waaay better options where you’re at!!
tenacious_mucus@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•The US Secretary of Education referred to AI as ‘A1,’ like the steak sauceEnglish10·1 month agoOdd you havent seen it being from the south…but that’s probably for the better! It’s Steak Sauce. Meant to be put on steaks…it’s in all major grocery chains and usually on the tables at most restaurants serving any sort of a steak menu. Bottle is shaped like a Worcestershire bottle, but has a white label with a big A1 on it. I never cared for it so at this point couldn’t even tell you what it tastes like. If a steak needs a sauce, then it’s not a good steak.
With that said, i’ve seen it used as a marinade ingredient, or more complex sauce ingredient- so it’ll still have its uses.

Also this- Dual Citizenship in Germany

tenacious_mucus@sh.itjust.worksto Books@lemmy.world•Walked into Powell's for ONE book. ONE.1·7 months agoUgh. That’s awesome. Gotta have them now! Mainly because I dont even have (or have heard of) most of those! Interesting that Children of Húrin isn’t in any of these sets. I feel like it was a long enough book alone to not have been incorporated into one of these…
tenacious_mucus@sh.itjust.worksto Cyberpunk 2077@lemmy.world•Sneaky hacking removed since launch?0·7 months agoIm not sure how the game was with that kind of build at launch, but i did a similar build on my last play-through after the big Phantom Liberty update. It starts out a little rough, you do have to level up to get higher skills that either slow tracking, or completely negate in some ways- so yes, it is kind of a “slog through it”, but arent most RPG builds that way? You have to complete them for them to be really effective?
At any rate, i always finished my hack stacks with a memory wipe if i wasnt sure the stack would kill, ran a deck that made hacks spread repeatedly to nearby enemies, so they kinda kept AOEing each other to death while i watched from the corners. If i started getting traced, i’d either quickly try to figure out who and eliminate before i was caught (if i didnt start with any hackers in the first place- usually the hackers are obvious when you scan them). By late game i could just roll up on a building, scan, dump hacks, wait a few seconds, and walk in to a building full of bodies…pretty OP, lol.
Last resort was always running away- id always make sure i had a clean way out. If you get far enough away (it’s not really too far) the tracking will fail since you’re out of range.
Yes. It’s plaguing almost every post from any decent sized page or group. Automatically assuming you want to ask certain questions regarding the content of the post. Annoying as shit and clutters up your feed even more. (Im only on there for certain IRL groups that unfortunately use FB as their only means of communication)
