Lol, lmao even

Commerce secretary Howard Lutnick suggested this week that only “fraudsters” would complain about missing a monthly Social Security check, and that most people wouldn’t mind if the government simply skipped a payment.

most people wouldn’t mind if the government simply skipped a payment.

oh, yes they will mind. will. they. ever.

hell hath no fury like a fixed-income senior, probably living check-to-check and barely getting by, not receiving the benefits they worked their lives for–accurately and on time.

and the only reason complaints won’t be filed, is because there will be no one to receive and process them.

i have heard out of touch statements, but this one takes the cake, the kind he wants to let seniors eat due to lack of bread

Maybe they won’t from your point of view if you fire the employees and there’s no one around to hear complaints left.

Seniors don’t make particularly good protesters.

In my experience, seniors make great indirect protestors. My grandmother would be complaining non-stop to anyone within earshot. The times when she won’t stop complaining about something work on my parents, at least.

Throw in the fact that many seniors would suddenly become financially dependent on family, and you’re gonna have a lot of pissed off adults who’re already financially struggling and now they have to pay for Grandma, Grandpa, Meemaw and Peepaw too.

They have touched the third rail of American politics, let’s see how long it takes for their own stupidity to kill them.

Not from the actual article but one of the alternates beneath it.

Social Security Administration veterans and powerful lobbying groups warn the changes, made at breakneck speed, may even foment more swindling.

Bingo. Just changing who the swindlers are this time.

😂 anyone voting Republican is a fool, especially people drawing social security. Republicans have been saying for decades they want to gut social security. 51% of those 65+ and 52% of 45-64 year olds voted to strip away their own entitlements. What fucking morons.

They have to be saying these things just to wind the public up to cover up the real vile things they are up to. I mean really. Not that I don’t think rich pukes like him don’t really believe this, but t say it out loud…
