You’re likely thinking of Mastodon.social, where they call any opposition to genocide & war antisemitic & ban you.

whats bad about mastodon.social? aren’t all instances the same with some catering to niches similar to lemmy communities? i genuinely do not know anything about politics and would like to be corrected.

Mastodon.social is the original server operated by the official Mastodon gGmbH (German) non-profit, the same group behind the development of Mastodon itself. It has the largest community of users, and has regularly been censoring pro-Palestine & anti-genocide content, banning those accounts.

It has been argued by some that because they are located in Germany, that there are a lot of legal “gray” areas that force them to do it. However, it doesn’t explain why they outright ban the accounts. I said, what “Israel is basically no different than Nazi Germany at this point.” That resulted in my account getting banned there, while they claimed my statement was antisemitic & Holocaust inversion. Notice however, I never said anything about the Holocaust or Jews. They regularly do this & ban accounts, claiming criticism of Israel is antismetic.
