I’ve never played the games but I enjoyed season 2 and season 3 looked to have a clear direction. We know where it starts and we know roughly where it ends and I’m guessing the finale will match wherever the game’s story ends.
The only controversy I could see is what direction the show is going to take after the third season. AFAIK there is no more material to pull from so we either have to end it or write something completely new.
Going in a new direction without the original writing team can be tricky, but also it sounds like he’s leaving on good terms so he could always come back.
Pretty sure they won’t continue it past the games story. IIRC Craig Mazin said they needed season 3 and 4 to tell the whole rest of the games story fully.
I’m really curious how they are going to get to a season 4. If they do one ep per day for Abby, the rest of the season could tell the rest of the game. Given how many people love to complain about it any chance they get, I’d be surprised if it got to season 4.
Realistically I think the audience won’t stay. S2 got far lower viewings, the story is wildly different to s1 and it’s following new people. Don’t see it working
I’d be all for them making a longer season 3 and finishing it all there, personally. Must be some budget or $$ reasons they’re wanting to stretch it out so far.
I have to assume HBO wanted to milk one of the few hit shows it has atm.
Ooooh controversial. Wonder if it’s cos s2 was shit…
He’s going to work on the studio’s next game, the entire article is barely longer than the headline
Could be a cover story, the 2nd game is his baby so I’m surprised he’s giving it up
Could be, but I’m more likely to question his desire to keep retelling the same story for the next 5 years. There’s still plenty of room to mess it up, but Season 3 seemed pretty set up
See your point
Haley Gross left too Signs point to them being booted, 2 is too much of a coincidence
Oh no! At least we’ll still have the game 🥲
i heard it was pretty bad compared the 1st.
I think how “bad” it is has been waaay over hyped. It’s become an Internet content mill, everyone is tripping over each other to try and dunk on it more than the previous person.
A lot of it started before the season even aired and was the same toxic BS that part 2 of the game had and shitting on actors abilities, not looking “exactly lie their charcters”, being too similar or not similar enough tui the game etc.
All that said, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint was similar to that of season 1. It sped through the story. It was only 7 episodes and we got to essentially the halfway point in a game that’s more than twice as long as TLOU 1. The first season was 2 episodes longer abs still felt too fast.
Yes it is
S2 was just following Neil’s Story from the game. I’m not why he would leave because of his own story.
The adaptation just doesn’t work, it’s weak
