The USA and Canada have a ton of good beer from small breweries, but the stuff that gets exported does taste like piss. It’s like judging British beer on the basis of Carling Black Label.

Yeah. I know some Germans who are jealous of American microbrews because in Germany they have strict laws that keep new small breweries from starting.

You can sell whatever you want (within reason) in Germany - you just then can’t put the word “bier” on the label. Not really stopping anyone, if you call it “Hopfenkaltschale” (“hops cold dish”) or “Gerstensaft” (“barley juice”), everyone will still know what you mean.

Miller and so called “Budweiser” certainly taste like piss. I don’t know about small breweries. Czech Budweiser is excellent although I prefer Pilsner Urquell or Radegast.

Yeah, Carling also taste like piss.
