I don’t generally watch the entirety of their shows, but Colbert and a few of these guys generally have maintained a good “roast whatever the fuck the stupid orange asshole was doing”. Colbert and Seth Meyers were my favorites to watch on Youtube as they called out the absurdity of the day.
YOU might not have liked his humor or whatever, but the people that tune into CBS at whatever hour-o’clock need this perspective.
Dollars to donut’s they fill this space with cop-aganda shows or some bullshit. Society will be worse off. And if other networks follow suit, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I don’t agree with Colbert on everything, and can’t say I’ve watched him enough or read enough about him to know if I should or would like him a lot, but he’s way above the other two in that thumbnail. I fucking hate Jimmy Fallon and don’t think I’ve ever seen anything from the third guy, don’t even know his name.
I’m not a Fallon fan either but the third guy is Seth Myers and he and his team are great imo. He took over for Conan on NBC’s Late Night. I think he used to host Weekend Update on SNL and did a good amount of writing for the show.

He’s also got a fucking stellar podcast with the Lonely Island fellas where they talk about the digital shorts and episodes they were on together.
Seth has become my favorite late night host. His Closer Look segments are gold.

CBS wants to get acquired by Skydance, which requires approval from the Trump administration.
Which is owned by Larry Ellison and his son. Larry Ellison is well known asshole Sociopathic Oligarch. Him taking over Paramount is the equivalent of The Goblin taking over Twitter. It will now become just another MAGA mouthpiece for the Conservative Propaganda Machine.

I started out thinking Seth Myers was bargain basement Colbert, but I’ve come to really appreciate much of his monologues. Give him a chance. And Day Drinking with Seth is fantastic.
Seth is an AMAZING interviewer. You watch him with guests and see that he’s genuinely interested and makes them comfortable
Colbert, comedians, journalists, and other workers in the industry, should make their own channels. That would give them far greater freedom regarding their content, especially if Not Safe for Google shows were hosted on Nebula or Peertube.

However, it doesn’t take a genius to figure this one out, considering how Colbert has ridiculed all POTUS and with how little grace Trump took his turn in 2016 (maybe also 24? haven’t seen it).
I do love Steven’s shows, from the Daily Show, Colbert Report and the late show. I’m sure there’s an element of business appeasement there, but I also think that it’s a sign of the slow death of television -at least for the post boomers. I feel for the people that lack broadband and now have one less voice calling out this administration.
I also hope he can help his crew and writers move into their next ‘thing’. Personally, I’m hoping he can go back to his Colbert Report format again on some online platform -not Apple. It was funny, informative and genuine (loved the ‘get to know…’ segments). But he might not have the energy for that anymore. I’m imagining he’s going to go the Conan route and switch to a podcast instead.
Either way, I’m sure he will be back.
Like most american late night hosts, the comedy aspect from Colbert is overdone and boring. But it works for Americans and he was huge, this is disgusting kowtowing.

Hardly, I stopped watching him when Trump wasn’t president because it was boring. I genuinely can’t believe thisnformat still exists and that people are interested ad find it entertaining. Seth Myers is solid and informative but anywhere it tries to be funny is boring.
The context was to say that I dnt care for this so I dont have a dog in the fight but its the wrong thing to do. Its easy to see these figures as divisive “their guy got fired” so I made it clesr that I dont give a particular shit about the show.
Though Stephen seems cool, a big gripe with these hosts is being moulded out of their natural charisma.

Its the american audience and studio set up, I think Colbert is very knowledgeable and interesting in long format discussions and funny in a few camro like instances but his show and late night format in general is boring.
The worst parts of John Oliver is when he has to make a joke to keep the american audience engaged.
