For a very long time, yes.

You know, growing up in the 80s was interesting. Everyone was completely convinced humans were alone in the universe.

“Its too far to travel, would take too long.”

“Humans are boring, why would they come here.”

“Those people speaking about abductions just want attention.”

Now its 2025 and I dont think the conversations have changed at all. If anything, people are even more locked into the idea that humans are alone. :)
