Hence you got the price cap. However thanks to Trump destroying the US and somewhat global economy and OPEC increasing production, lowering Russian oil exports becomes much easier.

That is why it only happens now.

The big one are the 200 additional vessels of the Russian shadow fleet. That fleet has a total size of about 600 vessels so that is going to hurt.

Which makes sense, as repairing those tanks, would take some time, then bringing them to the front and then Ukraine needs time to destroy them. So it makes sense that it slows down about now.

Latest pole was 57% for the Euro and 41% against with 2% undecided. To be fair that is the EU asking and it might be different depending on the pollster and the poll is a year old, but they are certainly not fully against it, so it will never happen.

For Ukraine, that just makes sense. Most of Ukraines trade is with countries using the Euro. They are in Europe and actually border the Eurozone with Slovakia. Romania is working hard on adopting the Euro too. Obviously Poland and Hungary also have to adopt the Euro at some point, as they are EU members without an opt out. Ukraine wants to join the EU, so it has to also agree to adopting the Euro at some point.

GM is not a European manufacturer. The Volkswagen ID3 is about the same size as the Bolt and sells pretty well for example.

The EU just probed into Chinese EV makers to figure out what kind of subsidies they get in China and then added those back on top in form of tariffs. You know a sensible approach.

Also no they are not more populare then what the West can produce at the moment. At least not in the EU. BYD got below 3.5% market share in the EV space in Germany.

The automotive industry is why Germany has such a bad time economicly speaking. At least in the last five years or so. Car sales in the Europe(EU, UK &EFTA) were 15,805,752 in 2019 and only 12,963,614 in 2024. Obviously car manufacturers prefer cheaper factories in eastern Europe over the more expensive German ones, hence you see them shrinking staff. For the suppliers it is even worse, as a lot of them are specialized in combustion engines. With BEVs doing what they do, that means mass layoffs. That is why German automotive industry only employees 761,000 workers today. In 2018 it was 834,000.

At the same time Germany is able to do much more then just automotive and those sectors are able to grow. Hence you see stagnation.

There is a massive issue with that data. Namely that it only looks at people, who actually have a job. Generally speaking employers prefer full time workers over part time. Obviously somebody working part time is still more productive, then an unemployed person. In France 52.8% of women over 15 work, in Italy it is 41.3%. Then you get things like unemployment, which tends to be much much higher in the south.

That is why Spain is working on reducing the work week. It lower the high unemployment rate.

The right just blaims the problems created by the rich on minorities like migrants, trans and homosexuals. That makes them look like they actually care about the people being hurt by the system, however also allows them to gain support from the rich. The rich do onw a lot of the media, which has massive influence on the vote.

The left party also knows this, so they usually do some minor things, which do not change the system too much in the hopes on not being hurt by the rich.

Oh and both parties are deeply corrupt.
