They’re sitting on billions of dollars. If there’s any University that can afford to show some spine is them. Let’s see if they do.

They’re showing spine by freezing hiring, cancelling salary increases, and slashing budgets. Oh and forming committees, they love doing that. That money isn’t being touched until they lose all of their researchers and international students. I was hopeful as well but all communication so far points to whoever runs the endowment not seeing past the yearly returns and their resulting bonuses.

I’m not fond of saying this, but they’re likely going to need that money for legal fights and educating as many as possible. It’s so odd that at 1950s tax rates, business was booming, philanthropy was booming and a four person household generally lives fairly decently on a wage at the local mom and pop hardware, grocery, not to mention those with bachelor degrees or higher.

Eta: and at current tax rates, not.

It is amazing that nobody sees that, we have cut corporate taxes, tried to dump it all on the worker and low and behold we can’t afford shit.

    Harvard

Every day, more and more I can’t tell if this administration wants to fuck or fight the American elite class.

I feel like they’re on a crash course to slowly alienate themselves from everyone.
