Hello peeps. Life’s thrown me some curve-balls recently, and I’d like a bit of an escape. Can anyone recommend a decent game in the vein of Skyrim, Fallout or Deus Ex/System Shock for the steam deck, that isn’t 25 or 30 quid please? Something on offer for less than a tenner would be ideal. I’m sure there are some great older RPGs out there that I’ve missed, the Deck is the first time I’ve got back into gaming for quite a few years, and while I’m sure I could quite happily just play Brotato for the next few years, I reckon there’s something a bit more immersive out there for me to find!

The Dishonored series is amazing and is usually pretty cheap when on sale. A couple bucks at most, maybe.

Another immersive sim to recommend would be Prey. The DLC is really good too

Dishonoured 2 plays like garbage on the deck. I found it too graphics intensive and had to crank everything WAY down.

Dishonoured 1 plays like a dream though.

That’s surprising. Would have thought the game to be “old enough” to perform well on the Deck.

Same. The last time I tried it was over a year ago so perhaps a proton update fixed it or improved it. It’s worth testing again.

+1 for Dishonoured if you haven’t gotten it yet. Especially the first one, one of my all time favourites. Highly recommended

This fits your price requirement and is a nice chill game to just lose yourself in and perfect for the deck IMO.

A Short Hike. Currently €6.59 in Europe.

Hope things improve for you soon.

I’m still fresh to the deck, so I’ve not tried all this steam-key-store business out, but from my quick peruse, that site looks good to know, and mad Max looks right up my street, or outback track as the case may be

    Batman Arkham series runs well.

Kotor 1 plays weird on PC but I’ve had some good experiences running an Xbox emulator and playing the Xbox version on my deck.

Ok, this was on sale this weekend, and bugger me if this isn’t one of the weirdest, most amazing games I’ve played. I don’t always have the attention span to play a game through once of its not really gripping, but within a short while of starting this I knew I’m going to have to play it at least once more, it’s fantastic

    valheim and skyrim

i am a much more relaxed gamer on the deck and oh boy these games have such a satisfying layer to them when just vibing there. spent an hour hiking the mistlands for the vibe last week

valheim is a bit more on the expensive side but skyrim is often for sale at like 10 bux

Valheim is often on sale at $10 as well.

Valheim is a great game to just relax, chilling in the meadows, building and exploring.

How good is Valheim for solo play? I’m on the fence about getting it myself for the deck.
