It’s less about making it so it can’t be voted in, and more so they have excuse to wiretap suspected communist’s phones and break up suspected communist meanings and arrest people for vague claims of “being communist”

You know, all the stuff they accuse the communist countries of doing all the time, but it’s ok when they do it!

Decent as in living as a local? Not really, the car industry is big there and so cheap labor in the factories is always needed. Maybe as like the “digital nomad” type, and with you arent lgbtq+. Bratislava is like a nightlife spot for people from neighbouring countries. Its a beautiful mountainous country. I mean it wouldnt hurt tbh.

            • Ahh, I see. All the Viennese rolling in for some cheap fun? I’m neither a digital nomad nor an auto laborer but mountains are great. Disappointing about their lgbtq+ attitudes. When I first found it i could qualify i looked at their vax numbers and see it hovering just above 55% in '22 so I see this all adding up

The communist party in the country was likely to be the kingmaker of the next election, which is partly why they’re doing this.

What happens to the communist party now because of this? I don’t know. Maybe they rename and justsay they’re socialists instead.

The international news from Czech with respect to anything “g0mmunism” or Russia seem very reactionary/reddit brain worm coded. Of course I am prepared to be wrong about this.

Moving to the Czech republic and founding the Gommunist Party since they banned communism. Gommunism is an ideology created wholly by me and completely different from communism *wink.

Liberals complain that communists ban their political opponents parties then do exactly that and claim that means they’re good.

Something I posted in the news mega about this the other day

Pretty funny that the czech communist party, which fell below the electoral treshold in the last election and didn’t get any seats, is likely to get back into parliament later this year through its front group (they already got nearly 300k votes in a EU election, which would be enough to get into national parliament), which would mean that the czech republic would have any leftist party in parliament because right now they have none, not even socdem, unless you count that pirate shit.

This kinda feels like a preemptive move against that, the state already dissolved the party’s youth wing once, then it was allowed to come back but unaffiliated with the party, so they’re not strangers to stuff like this probably

How is this even allowed in the EU’s by-laws? Honestly this is stupid just from the lib perspective cause this is just asking for lawsuit after lawsuit that very likely their courts will eventually say make it illegal. Or allow for various exceptions to the point of making it moot.

Edit: I looked it up and it does depend on national laws, so EU does allow it.

Half of the EU countries have it banned, like germany, poland and the three baltic chihuahuas for example.

on one hand - lmao at local gorbies, on the other - home ownership rate is still high (75%), so it’s unlikely czechs will notice anything amiss for a while.
