First, Hexbear is proud to take its support for refugees and migrants seriously in material terms.
Already, initial reports suggest that somewhere between 45-53% of lemm.ee users have begun the difficult transition to a new home after the apocalyptic devastation of their old servers. It is a trying time for these innocent, siteless people, many of whom fled reddit under conditions of political and economic repression, ballooning the fledgling server to the status of a respectable middle power in the Lemmy fediverse.
Internal turmoil and a crisis of leadership shattered their dreams after just a few short years. Now, adrift and desperate, the bulk of lemm.ee users have started to adapt to a third home. Amidst the fear and uncertainty, these users have received a warm welcome. In the bustling registration pages, many maingrants sang hopeful hymns, spontaneous expressions of the longing for a brighter, more stable future. One version of a common verse is below:
The brilliant purple shores bring peace from Lemmy wars
so we gaze on high to the hex-sun in the sky
Meanwhile, the long-time residents of Hexbear, who largely date from an earlier era of Reddit emigration and have constructed their own unique nation over the half-decade of their independence, have mourned openly the loss of the younger server, despite the sometimes contentious relations between the two. “I couldn’t believe the news when I heard,” one Hexbear poster, who asked to remain anonymous, said. “This is gonna fucking suck if they all go to .world and become fascists.” The user then pecked and scratched at the ground before shitting and pissing all over its feathers. Prominent and highly respected poster @jack@hexbear.net, often called “World-Historical, Light Itself”, could not be reached for comment on the matter.
By and large, the people of Hexbear have been eager to welcome in new countryfolk. Though some cultural friction is inevitable in such large migrations, the lost people of lemm.ee have quickly adapted to new cultural and political norms without shedding their traditional ways. “It’s important to have free speech above all else,” one of the thousands of new migrants said. “That’s why I realized we need to support Xi Jinping Thought.”
Hexbear continues to extend her arms over the netizens of the Lemmyverse, and few can resist her clarion call of freedom.
Starting a reactionary movement that blames these new accounts for a lack of effort posting.
edit: ahem
Friends, comrades, and people who enjoy UlyssesT.
Have we not all been through the struggle sessions? Have we not forged our identity through relentless self crit? These freeloaders come and want to enjoy the fruits of our labour without having been through the toils that gave rise to it!
These barbarian hordes have already destroyed their own home! Driving their moderators and administrators to resignation, burying the site with the vestiges of their sanity. Now they are at our gates, will we let them in? No I say! No we will not. We must stand firm against this attempt to replace effort posts with low quality memes, to devalue our work so the elite administrators can farm upbears from clueless newbies.
Ultimately is it not kinder to banish them to the wastes of the fedi, where they might build a site for themselves anew, than subject them to such exploitation? My fellow bears we must harden our hearts and act as the stern father, it is only through turning them away that we can all prosper.
Look I have no problems with the accounts the came over with a proper mod approved registration application, who contribute to the instance with their posts, many of the. even posts that the rest of us don’t want to make!
That said, something needs to be done about these lurker accounts that offer nothing, which I hear is like 80 percent of them! Throw these freeloaders out! That’s why I’m supporting @insurgentrat@hexbear.net 2025. The opposition just can’t deal with these real issues we have! I know a lot gets said on the campaign trail, but in practice the system will only go after the freeloaders.
I appreciate your support. The other side might call us serverist but without good people like this here poster to make the hard choices we would run out of upbears in a month.
