We have IronFox. It’s Firefox based and a continuation of an older privacy and security focused browser project mull (R.I.P. Divested Computing Group. You will be missed)

I just switched to librewolf and was recommended Fennec on my phone (so far so good!)

Just a heads up that if your goal is to get away from Mozilla, fennec is operated and maintained by them directly.

Ah, I didn’t know that. A quick search suggests that most of the telemetry and tracking have been removed… But yeah, I might look at other options.

Use IronFox, its based on fennec but with all Mozilla’s telemetry stuff ripped out and disabled.

IronFox is pretty good. My only gripe with it is that my password store doesn’t recognize it as a web browser.

For example, in Firefox if I go to gitlab.com and sign in, my password store does a lookup for passwords that have gitlab.com in the path. But with IronFox the lookup is for IronFox, which is similar to what happens if I use a qr code reader app to open a link in webview. But I have webview disabled so I think it’s just something proprietary in Firefox that was striped out.

Gotcha, the lack of capitals made me think that wasn’t an actual name and that you were concealing which manager you use. I don’t think I can be of help here, then; sorry!

@CubitOom@infosec.pub theres no need for finding a replacement. The benefit of open source projects is that theres usually someone who forks the project and continues the legacy if its popular enough.

You are very fortunate github user agrhan forked your pass command based android password manager. Here’s a direct link to the apk snapshot while im at it.

This is maintenance-only meaning it only updates dependencies. So don’t expect new features. There might be some others more actively worked on, but this is the most popular and stable one.

In the future maybe take a moment to browse forks on the projects git page instead of just assuming the project is dead and running to a replacement.

I believe fennec is maintained and operated by Mozilla, so if your goal is to get away from that then IronFox is probably a few steps further in that direction.
