    blindingly hot take:

2 athletic, muscular men maybe could do it if coordinated. 3 certainly. I’m guessing like 5 or 6 randos off the street if vaguely physically able could win as well

a lone wild animal can only do so much even with a very large amount of muscle

This is the crux of this debate.

Everybody thinks “i could take a gorilla (after about 80 other people sacrifice themselves to tire it out)”

The reality is the gorilla would rip the first guy cleanly in half without standing up and then everybody would run away.

Honestly this is my view on this as well. This fight only becomes an issue if the humans mindlessly charge at the gorilla 1 at a time. With communication and a strategy of wearing the gorilla’s energy down over time, it would be no contest. Persistence hunting is something humans can do given our mobility and endurance, we could do the same to a significantly less mobile creature. Once the gorilla is exhausted enough, it’s raw strength doesn’t really matter

Do you think they would be able to defeat it with their bare fists?

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq0gZiJxP5Q

Gorillas are fear mongered by hollywood, did you know there was 0 recorded incidents of a gorilla killing a human? sure they are strong, but they are chill, kind of like elephants yk, most people would probably feel bad for the gorilla if the hypothetical fight actually happened.

discussion of racism also usage of wikipedia

the reason most people think Gorillas are aggressive is because of their racism towards black men.

I’m sure that Gorillas are by nature chill and peaceful, but put in a life or death situation may require them to defend themselves, no? They do have the mass.

Not to be overly grim but if you stomp on something’s head enough, it’ll probably die

I don’t think any lock will be effective against someone who can rip your arms off.
