I think a lot of westerners don’t really know that, prior to China invading, basically all of Tibet was a feudal serf state (or that the US supports the Dalai Lama’s claims against China monetarily)

They see the Dalai Lama tongue kissing children and go ‘wow wholesome chungus 10,000,000’ too
