When I had appendix surgery, the pain when waking up was seriously awful. I’ve gotten really woozy and nauseous from morphine before, so I asked for something else to deal with the unbearable pain, and they gave me a crumb of fentanyl. All my pain was gone in the blink of an eye. It really is an effective drug

Yeah I call “don’t judge a book by the cover” on this one.

The video is great, and (from the perspective of someone who never took opioids) tells why heroin/fentanyl feels good and why it will destroy you.

It also highlights that a lot of people who take fentanyl (and even die from it) are drugged by unscrupulous dealers who spike their stuff with it

oh they love doing that, I think they did a similar thing for tobacco as well… if I’m not mistaken, I think the title of the video was “smoking is awesome”, and it was like a walkthrough of what happens in your body when you smoke, and how you pay a terrible price for the nic buzz

in their defense (although they’re not worth defending at all) this clickbait strategy will definitely get some people to watch, the jury’s still out on whether or not they actually have a decent message to communicate within the video, or if they’re (as usual) going to propose market-based strategies to make capitalism more “sustainable”

“There’s really only 1 conclusion to draw here: if you have the choice, don’t step into the supernova of pleasure because the danger of it turning into a supernova of pain is just too high”

That was the final line before a sponsored segment and a patreon plug segment. I don’t think they really provide a solution. Also, as I look at the video it has a more descriptive title.

Don’t really think there’s a problem with acknowledging that drugs feel good. People wouldn’t become addicted and throw away their lives and well-being to them if they didn’t feel good. You can’t really talk about why you shouldn’t do drugs without explaining what would make them appealing in the first place, otherwise you just get DARE.

Fent is divine even just smoked. But real heroin still feels better. Fentanyl mostly replacing heroin has been bad in almost every way including not giving users as good of a high.

Former addict here with years of heroin use (luckily quit before fent took over) and I have to agree. I’ve only ever had fentanyl in the hospital post surgery and it was a stronger painkiller than heroin but noticeably less euphoric. But fent is so cheap to produce illicitly I can see why it took over. There is one opiate that I would place above heroin and that is oxymorphone/Numorphan. I had it after hand surgery and it was the most intense and smoothest opiate high I’ve ever had. I always wondered why there’s no black market for it while hydromorphone/dilaudid was somewhat common back in the day.

Opana was everywhere for a few years before it got reformulated shortly after OCs. Generic oxymorphone tabs still exist but good luck finding them. Too good for this world.

I just gotta share how much I hate this guy’s name, like it’s one of those words where your brain sees it and instead of interpreting it as a kind of sound, instead it just returns as like “krgzrgzkrt” like just random clashing consonants and shit

it’s like a word that’s designed to cause your brain minor psychic damage when you try to read it in passing
